Geneva: On March 19, 2025, renewed airstrikes in Gaza have killed hundreds and left widespread destruction.
A UN statement reported that leaflets were dropped over areas in northern and southern Gaza, ordering residents to evacuate as Israeli forces intensified their bombardments. Local authorities say many civilians, including women and children, have died since the ceasefire collapsed, and thousands have already been forced to flee their homes.
The UN also warned that the situation is worsening as Israeli military operations expand into new areas. In one instance, forces raided a refugee camp in a nearby region, ordering families to leave and causing even more people to flee.
Meanwhile, the blockade on crossings into Gaza—now in its 18th day—is severely disrupting relief operations. Humanitarian groups are reporting critical shortages of food, water, clothing, and blankets, while community kitchens and temporary schools have been forced to close.
UN officials are urging all parties to act immediately to protect civilians and stop the violence, warning that without urgent help, the humanitarian crisis will only grow more severe.
